I just played the two Radiator games (another RPS convert) and have had my faith restored! I have become frustrated recently with both ends of the developers spectrum. Commercial developers are, for the most part, trying to use narrative alone to produce meaningful games, while many indie developers seem to have given up and are simply trying to introduce new or refined gameplay.
Now, I'm grossly generalising, but I thought Polaris and Handle with Care proved that by using both narrative and gameplay well, you can create far more engaging experiences.
Handle with Care was especially affecting for me, both because of the mindset the game puts you in, as well as the similarity to recent experiences of mine. The memory where James runs from the 'enemies' to Dylan was among the most powerful parts of any media for me, so kudos for that! (I've never used that word before, it's oddly unsettling)
Anyway, I'm certainly looking forward to the next instalment, although now the bar has been raised for my long bubbling game, in which I hoped to explore similar ideas.
Congratulations, and thank you!
